Join us, May 25-27, 2022, for the CASC 2022 Conference: Action to Impact VIRTUAL CONFERENCE!

Our theme for this year's conference is ACTION TO IMPACT. In a time of disruption, with organizations facing limited resources, the CASC 2022 conference will examine actions for driving courageous change and creating generational impact. Early Bird Registration Opens March 17, 2022.

> Making Moves in our DIEA Efforts

CASC is committed to breaking down barriers and strengthening Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Accessibility (DIEA) within the informal science learning and public engagement sector.

In 2019 CASC embarked on a three year strategic plan that included objectives centered around DIEA. The following year we set out to build a framework for learning, accountability and change. We committed to reflecting, looking inwards, with a thorough organizational assessment of our policies and practices; staff and volunteers; and membership engagement strategies.

CASC is now in a pivotal position to take a proactive approach to integrate DIEA practices into a DIEA Strategy that will guide and influence the associations day-to-day operations. To help guide us we’ve joined the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI) as an Employer Partner and are a partner of the Diversity Leads 50 – 30 project, led by Ryerson’s Diversity Institute. The Diversity Leads 50 – 30 project will support and strengthen the participants of the 50 – 30 Challenge with access to cutting edge research, databases of best practices, and recruitment and training of diverse board-ready candidates. We look forward to sharing our DIEA Progress Report with you in the spring.
