> GEN ACTION: Rallying Youth Climate Heroes!
Together, CASC Members will inform and inspire Canada’s youth to take action for climate change.
In 2021, Environment and Climate Change Canada approved an application led by Discovery Centre, in partnership with the Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC), Science North and The Exploration Place for funding from the Environmental Damages Fund (EDF) to Inspire Youth to Climate Action.
As part of this project, CASC will help flow-through $3 Million to CASC Member Institutions to engage over 200,000 K-12/CÉGEP youth in every province and territory across Canada.
The funds will support diverse, hands-on and locally relevant activities with an expected confirmed change in awareness and behaviours among participants, resulting in increased motivation to take action toward the reduction of greenhouse gases.

So… we’re launching an exciting art project! Last month, we commissioned 13 artists from across the country to create beautiful pieces that interpret principles of good communication. They’ve been hard at work and we’re thrilled to start sharing their work.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

Tourism Relief Fund in Western Canada: With a budget of $500 million over two years (ending March 31, 2023), including $50 million specifically dedicated to Indigenous tourism initiatives, and $15 million for national initiatives, this fund will position Canada to be a destination of choice when domestic and international travel is once again safe.

Museums Assistance Program: Supports heritage institutions and workers in the preservation and presentation of heritage collections. The program fosters the preservation of Indigenous culture and facilitates access to heritage collections for all Canadians. It also promotes professional knowledge, skills and practices related to key museum functions.

The Monitoring and Evaluating Climate Communication and Education (MECCE) Project is seeking to fund Case Studies of innovative climate change communication and education (CCE) to inform global understandings of quality CCE. Proposal deadline: January 4, 2022, 11:59pm EST
