Science for Seniors – Entomica
The Science for Seniors program reaches out to citizens whose opportunities for life-long learning are restricted by mobility or health issues. The program brings a stable of exotic insects to retirement homes, care facilities and senior citizen centres, to let its residents experience the rejuvenating and awe inspiring thrill of some of nature’s least-known treasures. This is done during a 1½ hour visit, which combines a plenary presentation about the insects’ peculiarities followed by free roaming among the exhibits and a volunteer-guided opportunity for personal interaction with insects of choice. The program is delivered once a year in conjunction with Sault Ste. Marie’s Annual Science Festival and in collaboration with Festival partners.

Future Science Leaders – Science World BC
At weekly meetings, students participate in innovative learning and skill building activities after being introduced to scientific research, academic theory and industry opportunities. Students are part of a powerful peer network of some of the BC Lower Mainland’s most talented students. The Future Science Leaders program was initially conceived as a “talent incubator” to provide gifted students an opportunity to engage with university-level topics and activities otherwise unavailable at home or school. Science World launched the program in 2011 and it is now in its fifth year.

Ken Spencer Park – Science World BC
The Ken Spencer Science Park is the largest new development project Science World has undertaken since it opened its doors in 1989. Four years in the planning, Science World worked closely with the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver Park Board, the community and local experts to create a one-of-a-kind experience that embodies Vancouver’s passion to be the greenest city in the world. Located on the front east side of the TELUS World of Science building, this outdoor exhibition space is open to visitors from mid-March to the last weekend in October. Since opening in November 2012, more than 1.1 million visitors have had the opportunity to experience, explore and enjoy the park.
